About the event
Why do we spend 10-15 minutes practicing the freefall before a skydive but hardly any time mentally rehearsing the longest part of our jump—housekeeping procedures, canopy collision emergency protocols, and the most critical part of our skydive, the landing?
Seems a bit backwards, doesn't it?
At the start of a skydiving journey, the parachute ride back to the ground is often overlooked.
In this course, you'll not only become a more confident and competent canopy pilot, but you'll also gain a deeper understanding of your parachute's flight characteristics and how to fly it safely.
How do we do that you might ask? All skydives on this course will be hopnpops from 6000ft with an aim to purely focus on our canopy decent and landing. The 2 day course will be split into half theory/seminars half day skydiving with a goal of at least 4 jumps per day. All landings will be briefed, filmed and debriefed.
The practical part of the course will be working on a goal of yours, this might be improving your accuracy/getting a display license, consistently achieving stand up landings or maybe you would like to learn some canopy excercises for up above your hard deck.
During the Course we will cover topics such asÂ
- Canopy Excerises/Drills
- Understanding a Wingloading
- Exit Separation and Landing Stack Ups for HopnPopsÂ
- How to Read Gridpoint Wind Forecasts
- Undertsanding Circuit Legs/Circuit Planning
- Accuracy Tips/Tricks
- Mechanics and Aims of a Flare
- Understanding Canopy Inputs and Flight RangesÂ
- Hard Decks in Circuits and Aborts
- Canopy Collision Emergency ProceduresÂ
If you are looking to downsize, doing it under the guidance and supervisioin of a coach is the perfect place to do it. Though, You're going to need 3 excellent reasons why you want to downsize.
And No, Â "I have bought a new container" isnt a good enough reason. ;)
The courses will be no more than 6 people with plenty of time for 1 on 1 and group learning.
Attendance for both days of the course is required. If you can only attend one day or need to leave early, please refrain from registering and consider a group coaching day instead.
The course will take place rain or shine, with many topics to cover even in the event of poor weather conditions.
Please arrive by 7:30am with a gear checked and be ready to start jumping.
